12人の絵描きさんたちが、1か月づつそれぞれのイラストを描き、12枚の様々なイラストが描かれたカレンダーが出来上がりました。
I drew an illustration for a 2021 calendar distributed by Heisei Mart, a Japanese food store in Toronto, Canada.
Twelve painters drew their own illustrations one month at a time, and a calendar with 12 different illustrations was completed.
私が担当したのは、10月のイラストです。
2020年は、コロナウイルスの影響で、世界でステイホームが推奨されていました。
季節のイベントは中止・延期になり、皆がおうち時間をどう楽しく過ごそうかと試行錯誤していた時です。
平成マートの方から、「おうちじかん」というイラストテーマをいただいていたので、10月の季節のイベントでもある「ハロウィン」と「おうちじかん」を掛け合わせたイラストを描きました。
I was in charge of the illustrations for the month of October.
In 2020, due to the coronavirus, stay-homes were recommended worldwide.
Seasonal events were cancelled or postponed, and everyone was trying to figure out how to enjoy their time at home.
Heisei Mart had given me the illustration theme of "Spend time at home", so I drew an illustration that combines the seasonal event of October, Halloween, with "Spend time at home".
通常のお仕事ですと、ラフの提出は必須なことがほとんどですが、こちらのイラストはラフや下絵の確認は無しで制作しました。
先方様からは、「完成品を見るまで楽しみに待っています。私たちを楽しませるような作品を制作してください！」というメッセージをいただいたので、みんなが楽しめるイラストになるような作品に仕上げました。
In most cases, rough sketches are required for normal work, but this illustration was created without any rough sketches or preliminary sketches to check.
A customer commented, "We are looking forward to seeing the finished product. Please create a work that will entertain us!" so I made sure to create an illustration that everyone would enjoy.
